Data Cabling & CCTV Installationin Melbourne & Victoria

See your property from anywhere. Connect every corner of your network. Techniko Group designs and installs CCTV camera systems, video intercoms and structured data cabling for homes and businesses — cleanly wired, properly configured and built to work.

Security & Connectivity, Done Right

Reliable data & CCTV systems start with expert installation.

Techniko Group designs and installs hardwired CCTV systems, video intercoms and structured data cabling for homes, businesses and community facilities across metro Melbourne and regional Victoria.

We plan camera positions around how your property is actually used, run cabling neatly and permanently, and set up remote viewing so you can check in from your phone — at work, on holiday, anywhere.

And because the same licensed electricians handle your power, your cabling and your cameras, everything is done in one coordinated visit: dedicated circuits where needed, tidy cable runs through walls and ceilings, and a system handover where we show you exactly how to use what we’ve installed.

Remote Access on Your Phone

Why It's Worth It

What a properly installed system actually gives you.

Beyond the hardware, a well-designed data and CCTV setup changes how you run your property day to day.

Eyes on your property, 24/7

Check live cameras and recorded footage from your phone wherever you are — the site after hours, the shop while you're away, the front door when the intercom rings.

Genuine deterrence

Visible, professionally mounted cameras change behaviour. Opportunistic theft, vandalism and after-hours trespass all drop when a property is clearly monitored.

Evidence when it counts

Clear, correctly positioned footage resolves disputes, supports insurance claims and gives police something to work with — instead of a grainy shape in the dark.

A network that keeps up

Hardwired data points outperform Wi-Fi for anything that matters — workstations, TVs, security recorders, access points — with none of the dropouts or dead zones.

Know who's at the door

Video intercoms let you see and speak with visitors before letting them in — from the couch, the office or the other side of the world.

Safer staff and sites

For businesses, cameras over entries, tills, loading docks and car parks protect your team, discourage aggression and settle he-said-she-said incidents with facts.

What We Install

Cameras, intercoms and cabling — designed as one system.

Security and data run on the same backbone. We design and install them together, so nothing is bolted on as an afterthought.

CCTV Design & Installation

Hardwired, high-definition camera systems for homes and businesses — positioned to cover entries, driveways, tills and blind spots, with recording sized to your needs.

Remote Viewing Setup

Secure app access configured on your phone, tablet and computer before we leave — live view, playback and motion alerts, working and tested in your hands.

Video Intercoms

Video intercom systems for homes, offices and multi-unit buildings — see, speak to and buzz in visitors from wherever you are.

Structured Data Cabling

Neat, permanent network cabling for offices, shops and homes — data points where you need them, labelled and terminated properly at a tidy central point.

Wi-Fi & Network Points

Hardwired access point locations and extra network outlets that eliminate dead zones and keep streaming, security and business systems running smoothly.

Upgrades & Maintenance

Upgrades of ageing analogue camera systems to modern high-definition equipment, plus servicing, repairs and expansion of existing CCTV and data installations.

How It Works

Designed around your property. Handed over working.

No system out of a box, no “figure out the app yourself.” Here’s how we take you from first call to watching your cameras on your phone.

1

Site Walkthrough & Design

We walk your property with you, identify what needs covering — entries, driveways, work areas, blind spots — and design camera positions and cable routes to suit.

2

Clear Quote & Equipment Options

You get an itemised quote with equipment options explained in plain English — resolution, storage, night vision — so you choose on facts, not jargon.

3

Clean Installation

Cameras, intercoms and cabling installed neatly and permanently — concealed runs where possible, no sagging cables, no mess left behind.

4

Setup & Handover

We configure recording and remote access, connect the app on your devices, and walk you through everything until you're comfortable using it.

FAQs

Data and CCTV Smoke detector Questions, Answered.

Are wired CCTV cameras better than Wi-Fi cameras?

For anything you’re serious about — yes. Hardwired cameras deliver consistent high-definition footage, aren’t affected by Wi-Fi dropouts or interference, can’t be defeated by simply jamming a wireless signal, and record reliably around the clock. Wi-Fi cameras have their place for quick, casual coverage, but for a system you’ll depend on as evidence or security, wired is the professional choice — and it’s what we install as standard.

Yes — remote viewing is part of every CCTV installation we do. Before we leave, we set up secure app access on your devices so you can watch live footage, review recordings and receive motion alerts from anywhere with an internet connection. We test it with you on site, so there’s no “it worked when the installer left” surprise.

It depends on the recorder’s storage size, the number of cameras and the recording settings — typically anywhere from a week to a month or more. During the design stage we ask how much history you realistically need (an owner-occupied home differs from a business that might discover an issue weeks later) and size the storage accordingly. Storage can also be expanded later if your needs change.

Yes. Surveillance laws restrict recording in areas where people expect privacy, and cameras shouldn’t be aimed into neighbouring properties or private spaces. As part of our design we position cameras to cover your property effectively while respecting these boundaries — protecting you legally as well as physically. For workplaces, we’ll also flag where signage or staff notification is good practice.

Because these systems live inside your walls, ceilings and switchboard. A licensed electrician can safely run cabling through the same spaces as your electrical wiring, install dedicated power where recorders and intercoms need it, and deliver the whole job — power, data and cameras — in one coordinated visit with one point of accountability. No juggling a cabler, a security installer and a sparky who’ve never met.

Usually, yes — and often more affordably than starting from scratch. In many cases the existing cable runs can be reused with modern high-definition cameras and a new recorder, transforming blurry analogue footage into clear, usable images without re-wiring the whole property. We’ll assess what you have and quote the most economical path to a system that actually performs.
